In 2019, bypasses were constructed to replace timber bridges on the Blue Hill Road, Cooksvale Road, Julong Road, Kangaloolah Road, Peelwood Road, Willcox Road, and the Woodville Road.
It is not known which were damaged, however, a spokesperson for the Upper Lachlan Shire Council said it was several.
At least one bypass was significantly damaged. "We are still waiting on water levels to recede to determine full damage and reinstatement requirements," a spokesperson said. The council is liaising with residents using this route.
At the Julong Road, a property owner said the bypass had washed away at least twice. He said, the council staff replaced gravel, however, after it happened again they had elected to fix the damage in around a month. Vehicles weighing less than 8 tonnes can use the timber bridge on the Julong Road.
Damage to other bypasses included the wash-out of materials that covered pipe culverts.
The spokesperson for the council said they would claim the full costs as part of a larger flood damage claim.
"Cost of repair to these bypasses has not been fully tallied."
The local government area was declared a natural disaster zone for storms and floods from August 5.
