Normally, relay teams would head over to Eastgrove Park for the 24-hour event, but that was not possible due to COVID-19.
Instead, teams like the Goulburn Baptist Church and Invert Gymnastics did it on their own terms on Saturday, October 31 to Sunday, November 1.
Eagle FM radio hosts MJ Brokenbrough and Dylan Finch also broadcasted a 24-hour live show and were also receiving donations on air.
Goulburn Mulwaree mayor Bob Kirk officially launched the first hour of the event on air.
Cancer Council NSW community relations officer Brooke Manzione said Goulburn never fails to impress.
"We're so grateful the Goulburn community have come together to relay this year," Ms Manzione said.
"The day has been a beautiful representation of the community coming together to support cancer patients and their families."
Over at the Goulburn Baptist Church, members of their Empire Youth Team ran a 12-hour event where they took turns doing laps across the block of Bourke, Verner, Auburn and Montague Street.
Youth team leader Greg Tyrell was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago and said it was so heartening to see the event staying strong.
"It's been really encouraging to see all the youth raise money for a great cause," Mr Tyrell said.
There was also free food and coffee available.
Invert Gymnastics, led by Vaughn Edmonds, was innovative in their thinking this year.
Instead of doing laps, they did 24 hours of physical activity.
Elsewhere, the team at the Goulburn Donut Shop showed their support by raising over $3000 through their sales and raffle tickets on Saturday morning.
Relay for Life sees participants come together by walking laps to raises funds for the Cancer Council's research, prevention, information and support services.
