Pledges ranging from $400 to $400,000 have been made for Community Energy for Goulburn (CE4G) initiative on the outskirts of the city.
In less than two weeks the CE4G is rapidly approaching its 100 per cent subscribed target of $2m.
This has been achieved through just two events - a public information meeting and a webinar.

CE4G raised more than $500,000 in half an hour after the public event on October 21. After the webinar a week later, that total sky-rocketed to more than $1.2 million.
CE4G vice-president Ed Suttle said the organising committee was overwhelmed by the support.
"This shows that the people of the Goulburn region believe the future of electricity generation is through renewable sources," he said.
"They see the investment in our solar farm as a sound and profitable investment, and they are sending a message to their very own federal member Emissions Reduction Minister Angus Taylor."
With battery back-up, the CE4G community-owned solar farm will be the first of its kind in Australia and the largest community-owned solar farm in NSW, generating 1.2MW, and it received considerable support from the NSW Government via the Regional Community Energy Fund.
The final public information meeting is at 6pm on November 4 at Goulburn Workers.
