The immediate damage was to two network elements along the high voltage transmission line off the Pejar Road, a third structure was also damaged and would need replacement.
Nearby wind farms indicated that the wind speeds exceeded 180 kilometres per hour during the event.
The installation of emergency structures is underway, Michelle Stone, media and communications manager for TransGrid said.
"These temporary structures ensure continuity of supply for the network," she said.
It was expected to be completed by Christmas.
"Engineers will continue to analyse the damage and our design team has already attended site. Other network lines continue to maintain our electricity supplies during this rebuilding activity."
TransGrid staff in Yass responded to the incident.
"By the next day we had further staff from Wagga, Sydney and Orange assisting in planning and coordinating the response to manage these events," Ms Stone said.
A further incident occurred on the 132-kilovolt transmission line from TransGrid's Cowra Substation to the Bango Substation.
"This line has a different design and eight structures have been damaged."
However, the damage did not result in outages for direct customers.
