Police were taken by surprise early Friday morning when a man allegedly produced a loaded firearm after being pulled over for a breath test.

Just after midnight, officers from The Hume Police District responded to reports of a driving complaint involving a 4WD on George Street, Marulan.
Police saw a silver Toyota Prado 4WD with a flat tyre at the corner of Brayton Road and George Street.
Officers approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 31-year-old man, before he was breath tested.
After allegedly returning a positive result, the man was arrested and as he was being walked by police to the caged police truck, it's alleged he produced a semi-automatic pistol from his pants and threw it in on the ground.
Police seized the firearm and the man was taken to Goulburn Police Station.
The South Hurstville man allegedly failed to complete a breath analysis and was charged with four offences, including:
- not keep firearm safely - pistol;
- handle/use firearm under the influence of alcohol/drug;
- possess unregistered unauthorised pistol in public place, and;
- refuse or fail to submit to a breath analysis.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Wollongong Bail Court on Friday where he was formally refused bail to appear before Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
