Goulburn District Race Club has announced the Goulburn Soldiers Club as its major partner for the this year's Goulburn Cup.
The partnership for the race club's blue ribbon event held in early November was jointly announced this week by both organisations.
Goulburn District Race Club ceo Robyn Fife says the club is thrilled to "saddle up" with Goulburn Soldiers Club for this year's Goulburn Cup.
"Our race club is extremely excited to have Goulburn Soldiers Club join us in presenting the Goulburn Cup in 2021," Ms Fife said.
"They are an organisation with a strong presence in our local community and a tremendous track record of supporting people, the community and events on the Goulburn calendar.
"The Goulburn Cup is now worth $200 000, making it one of the most sought after races outside metropolitan and provincial areas of NSW.
"The cup and its support program traditionally attracts industry participants to Goulburn from a cross section of country, provincial and metropolitan areas giving local racegoers the opportunity to witness high quality racing and associated activities.
"Our club and its local participants are part of an exciting, thriving industry in NSW and major events such as the Goulburn Cup are integral to what we offer and the country racing calendar in NSW."
Goulburn Soldiers Club promotions and loyalty coordinator Emma McColl said community sponsorship was an important part of what the organisation is about.
"Our club has a proud history of investing in the local community as a natural part of how we do business," Ms McColl said.
"The Goulburn Soldiers Club is all about supporting our local community in as many ways as possible.
"It's important to us and supporting the Goulburn Race Club and its major event on the racing calendar is another way of doing just that.
"Both clubs have a proud operating history in this community and this type of partnership is natural way of continuing that tradition together."
Ms Fife said it would be great to see the 2021 edition play out like the 2020 version.
"The 2020 edition of the race was a great result for our local industry with Goulburn trainer Tash Burleigh winning the race with her horse Al Mah Haha,' Ms Fife said.
"Former Goulburn product Shaun Guymer was the winning jockey which made it a result our club was extremely proud to be associated with."
