Soroptimist International has organised a dinner to celebrate International Women's Day and also mark its 65th anniversary of granting of the club's charter.
Gina Mobayed, director of the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, will be the guest speaker on the occasion.
"I am looking forward to sharing my stories of experiencing and overcoming the challenges women face in life and work, towards equality. It's a crucial conversation that needs to keep being had, and the Soroptimists do incredible work in Goulburn and beyond to keep that conversation alive," she said.
The theme for this year's International Women's Day is #Choosetochallenge.
"I will ask other clubs and businesses to #ChooseToChallenge and commit to consistently calling out inequity," Anne Oliver, president of Goulburn Soroptimists said.
The group is active in Goulburn as well and focus their work in the local area, supporting community organisations who in turn support women and girls.
The organisation works with Anglicare, Growing Abilities, South Goulburn School, Share the Dignity and more initiatives in Goulburn.
The event will be held on March 8, 6:30pm at Best Western Plus, 77 Lagoon Street, Goulburn.
Tickets cost $45 per person. RSVP by March 1. Email sigoulburn@siswp.org or call Sue on 0458 299 313 or Anne on 0418 257 069.
