Crookwell Library has added new seating and book tubs to the children's area thanks to a Crookwell Friends of the Library donation of $1300.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council's manager, library services, Michaela Olde, said the contribution of the Crookwell Library Friends is invaluable to Crookwell Library and its members.
"In a small town like Crookwell, the library plays a vital role," Ms Olde said.
"It is a place for people of all ages to meet and access information.
"The new chair in the children's area will provide a comfortable space for children and adults to sit.
"The new book tubs will enable the learning to read series of books to be more accessible to children."
Parents, grandparents and carers will no longer have to sit on the small hard plastic seats in the space, but will be able to comfortably sit with children and enjoy reading a book, or interacting with their children.
"On behalf of Council and the community I would like to thank the Crookwell Friends of the Library for their generous donation," Ms Olde said.
