Her album Beautiful Tangle shares her experience of losing a child on her 39th birthday through her song Milestone.
"It was a tough period and it took me around a decade to be able to speak about it publicly. Every song in the album is a page out of my life," she said.
She took a break from the industry over a decade ago to raise her son and feels that a lot has changed since then.
"It's joyful to be back on stage doing what I love to do. It's been lovely getting back on stage because as a parent, if you take a break from work to raise your children and then come back, everything changes. I am still trying to understand social media," she said.
The album tour had to be cancelled in 2020 due to bushfires and pandemic. "We have put the tour back together in a different format this year and are visiting towns we had promised as part of the tour," she added.
She is excited to be back in Goulburn after 12 years and will be performing at Goulburn Workers Club. Her award-winning record producer and musician husband, Rod McCormack will open the show.
"I am grateful for the audience who come and support us and I would like to thank them. Our industry has been severely affected and we need the support for live music," she said.
"COVID-19 had been tough on the crew and the band as for some, it is their only source of income. It is good to back with them on the road doing what musicians do best."
Gina Jeffreys will be performing at Goulburn Workers on March 13 from 7:30-11pm.
