The fifth round of the local table tennis A Grade teams competition saw the 88's defeat the Panthers 8-3.

The match witnessed a close encounter between Jack Gray and Lachlan Bill, as Jack came out on top 9-11, 14-12, 12-10, and 11-9. An equally close win by Rod Blake over James Turner gave the Eels a 6-5 victory over the Bulldogs with Blake saving two match points against him to win 12-10 in the fifth set.
John Lees also came from behind to defeat a determined Simon Jiang in five sets. The final match of the night was taken out by the Rhinos 7-4 over the Rabbitohs with two five-setters going to Jack Gray over Michael Turner and Bagas Ariza over Leon Jenson.
Robert McIntosh also played well to defeat Ariza in four sets earlier in the night.

The B Grade Table Tennis teams competition continued this week with the Demons defeating the Doggies 6-5. Phil Fraser had a tough night playing three long singles five-setters, and came out on top over Siobham Scott, but lost to Dave Howlett and Kev Fitzgerald.
Howlett also won a tight, hard fought match against Bob Philipson 11-9 in the fifth set. The Storm grounded the Jet Setters 6-5 with two five-setters won by Isaac Mavrolefterou over Sam Plumb and Sam's father Dave overcame Isaac's brother Harry.
The Sharks slayed the Dragons 7-4 with Wayne King defeating Dave Manning in four. In the final B Grade match, the Pies outplayed the Dockers 8-3 with A Grade fill-in Gerard Gray beating both Elisa Chung and Qiana Betts in four sets.
