Goulburn High was one of just 10 schools across the state to be selected to work in the café this year, where students will prepare and serve food.
Run through the NSW Department of Education and the Royal Agricultural Society, working in the café will provide students with knowledge and understanding of the preparation and serving of food at a large event.
Goulburn High School Hospitality teacher Amie-Lea Friend said it was a part of the Certificate II serve food and beverage hospitality VET qualification.
Miss Friend said the Department of Education had organised uniforms and the chef who would be on site to run the café and provide guidance for the students.
Goulburn High students will work at the café from April 10-12 from 8am until 2.30pm, where they will serve up to 80 customers each day.
They will be in charge of preparing the food for the high tea style menu before cleaning up.
And with so many excursions and learning opportunities postponed or cancelled over the past 12 months due to Covid, Miss Friend said the students were extremely excited to be a part of this event next month.
"I'm really, really excited and more excited for the students because it's given them a bit of positive motivation and something to look forward to," she said.
"It's such a great way for our kids to be empowered and make those connections out in the real world."
Miss Friend said they would revise some of the skills they had covered so far in the course in preparation for the show, in particular food safety and handling which had been a focus with the Covid pandemic.
