Award-winning comic book writer Ryan K. Lindsay will help kids get in touch with their imagination and create their own comic book.
Mr Lindsay love for comics started at a younger age and grew as he got older. He feels that they are a nuanced medium for telling stories.
"It's interesting how you can show your story to a variety of different readers in so many new ways through comics. As a comic book writer, you can decide what kind of impact you want to have as a reader and then work on how to do that while writing a story," he said.

Mr Lindsay is the winner of the Aurealis award for writing the best graphic novel in Australia in 2017. He also won the Ledger award in 2017 as well. He has been writing comics for various publishers for the last eight years including Dark Horse Comics and Vertigo.
The primary school teacher has combined his passions for teaching children and writing comics at his upcoming workshop in Goulburn that will be held next week.
"I enjoy conducting such workshops as it's another way to help kids open up and express themselves by creating instead of being receptive merely through reading or watching," he added.
"I have always the kids' ability to completely immerse themselves in a task inspiring. The workshop will help them come up with possibilities of what they can do on a page while having fun."
At the workshop, kids will be able to learn how they can plan pages for comics, tell a story in panels and techniques that will help them in mapping out how they can make a short comic.
The workshop will be held on April 13 at Goulburn Mulwaree Library from 10:30-11:30am. The cost for the workshop is $5 and is for kids who are seven years in age or older.
