With the recent completion of two rounds of play, the local A Grade Table Tennis Teams competition has reached the halfway stage.

Mark Soley's team, the 88s, are leading the way on 18 points, followed closely by Jack Gray's Rhinos on 16, Michael Turner's Rabbitohs on 14 and Chintan Trivedi's Panthers on 12.
Rod Blake's Eels, Richie Jiang's Eagles and James Turner's Bulldogs trail the field on 10, 8 and 6 respectively.
The highlights of the past two rounds have been Simon Jiang's straight sets victory over Michael Turner, Siobhan Scott's narrow but decisive win over Nicola Fraser and current Goulburn Singles Champion Richie Jiang's come-from-behind effort to defeat James Turner 8-11, 11-7,12-10,14-12.
Other fine matches came from Robert McIntosh over Gerard Gray in five, Leon Jensen over Chising Chung in four and Michael Turner over Rod Blake in straight sets.
Play resumes on Monday, April 19, after a break for Easter and the school holidays.
B Grade also staged two rounds recently at the John Lees Centre with the Storm leading the points table on 19, followed by Dave Howlett's Doggies, Elisa Chung's Pies and Phillip Fraser's Demons all on 17.
Wayne King's Sharks are on 13, with Dave Manning's Dragons on 11, Sam Plumb's Jet Setters also on 11 and Luke McDonald's Dockers on 7. They will have to have a good second round to catch the leading teams.
Notable match results in rounds six and seven were: Wayne King def Peter Trama 13-11 11-13 11-8 13-11, Dave Howlett def Sam Plumb in four, Bob Philipson defeated both Madison Turner and Dave Perkins in five sets, Leo Li defeated Bruce McGuirk in five, Dave Manning defeated Sam Plumb in five sets, John Green beat Kev Fitzgerald 12-10 in the fifth set.
Meanwhile, Nicola Fraser defeated Luke McDonald and then went down to Maddie Turner in straight sets, Dave Plumb defeated Qiana Betts in five and, finally, Simon McDonald outlasted Ann McGuirk in five sets.
Play resumes on April 21. Everyone is reminded that the Wednesday morning social play has also resumed. Everybody is welcome and the session starts at 10am and concludes at noon.
The social table tennis games will be held at the John Lees Centre which is on Sportsway off Finlay Road.
