The hobby farm 'Martins Ridge' at 89 Bango Lane is spread over sprawling 225 acres and boasts of integrated family and living areas, a country style kitchen and verandas on two sides of the home with a shade sail.
George Southwell from Ray White Rural Canberra and Yass says that the price for buying rural properties has increased manifold in recent times.
"This particular property has been sold for $93,000 above the reserve price. The local land price sits at $6200 an acre but the hobby farm has been sold for $7880 an acre which is a new record," he said.
The property has four bedrooms including a master bedroom with en-suite and walk-in robe, two bathrooms and six parking spaces.
It also has multiple living areas which include integrated family and lounge rooms as well as an informal dining room and separate closed off the formal dining area. The property has established garden and lawns and has been split into five paddocks and has five dams and four livestock water troughs.
Cattle have successfully been run on the hobby farm with full-sized cattle yards located on the east side of the property which can be easily accessed via a secondary entrance.
Mr Southwell feels that the demand for rural properties has been high but of late, the enquiries for these properties have increased even further.
After the pandemic, real estate agents in Goulburn and surrounding areas have been dealing with a high number of enquiries since the lockdown started.
The demand for such blocks had increased after more people started working from home and location is no longer a barrier for them to live in a different place.
