The u14s Southern Tablelands United FC team are the champions of the Woden Valley FC Lightning Cup following a hard fought 4-2 win against Majura FC in Canberra on Sunday, April 11.

The grand final began with two early goals a piece within the opening minutes before United forged ahead with another three goals before half time.
Majura scored once more in the second half before United's gallant effort shut them out.
Southern Tablelands United FC coach John Edwards was really pleased with everyone's efforts.
"The boys played well," Edwards said.
"The start of the day was a bit rusty as it was the first game of the season, but they improved throughout the day.
"They hit their straps in the first half of the grand final and kept the lead.
"I'm proud of the boys' efforts and look forward to the upcoming season of the Canberra competition."

To get to the grand final, the United drew Woden 1-1 and beat the u15s Majura Park FC side 3-2.
The u14s side was allowed to have u15s support players on their team.
