Ms Barber said that Goulburn has a mix of modern and character houses.
"There are a lot of houses like that in Goulburn and Southern Highlands with beautiful architectural details. I feel that it's a mistake to rip out the beautiful character from such houses," she said.
"We should do whatever we can to retain the architectural details that are relevant to the era of the house. That will preserve the value of the property."
During her presentation at the Goulburn Mulwaree Library, she will be talking about the five internal and external changes that can be made to one's property.
For those who are looking to renovate their house, she will share tips on where to start and the process of how it can be done.
Whether the purpose of renovation is to live in the property or use it as an equity to sell, she will talk about how it can be achieved through property strategy, structure, process of reserach and planning a renovation.
She has personally renovated more than 120 properties and been involved in property deals in excess of $50 million.
Her talk will coincide with the library celebrating the first anniversary of its own cosmetic re-design with our new shelving and library layout.
The talk will begin at 12:30pm on Wednesday, April 21 in the Goulburn Mulwaree Council chambers. The session is free, but bookings are essential and can be made online at https://www.trybooking.com/BOXDL, in person at the library, or by calling 4823 4435.
