
There were grand finals galore at Cookbundoon on Saturday, April 24.
First up was the u13 girls Association Cup final.
Crookwell defeated Stags Pink 5-3 in a great see sawing game, which saw the teams go goal to goal until Crookwell went clear in the last 10 minutes.
Players of the match were Jamie Webb from Stags Pink and Ava Nicholson from Crookwell.
Next up was the 13s boys and this contest saw a dominant display from Stags Black.
They ran out 5-0 winners over Crookwell.
Players of the match were Rhys Brooker from Stags Black and George Willis from Crookwell.
The u15 saw Canberra based teams Southern Tablelands United and Workers go head to head with United running out 4-1 winners.
Players of the matches were Ollie Corbally-Stourton from STU, and Jack Yeadon from Workers.
The Colts final was the match of the day with Stags running out 4-3 winners in extra time.
Stags goal keeper Kolby O'Neil took out the player of match award for a dominant performance .
The men's final got underway late in the day with Stags hitting the ground full of running.
Some great early passing moves saw Harry Coughlan open the scoring for Stags in the first five mins.
Stags looked set to add a second soon after, but a freak injury to Stags Aaron Swanson saw play stopped for 10 mins.
The game was moved to another ground while an ambulance was called.
Upon the restart Stags picked up where they left off with Julius Diedrich slotting home for a 2-0 lead and just before the break, Chad Cosgrove scored from a free kick.
It was a lofted shoot and players in the defence were wrong footed. The ball went untouched into the net.
The second half started with Workers on the front foot.
The boys in blue started to control the game, moving the ball around and testing the Stags defense.
After sustained pressure, Workers clawed a goal back through Tom Dunwoodie.
This lifted Workers and while Stags always looked dangerous on the counter attack, Workers controlled the half.
Workers threw all their possession, but were unable to break down the Stags defence with Stags defender Derrick Jones taking out the player of the match.
