The scheme is funded by the state and federal governments and phase two, steam one will open later this month.
A spokesman said a key condition was that 25 per cent must be allocated toward council community grants that target small-scale community activities. They must meet one or more of the following relating to disaster recovery outcomes:
- The needs of vulnerable groups;
- Community awareness of emergency processes;
- Changing disaster recovery needs;
- Improved capacity and response capability;
- Risk mitigation and threat awareness;
- Planning, preparedness and recovery management;
- Enhanced or improved community safety and health; or other resilience-building projects.
Eligible applicants can apply for a minimum of $5,000 (excluding GST) and a maximum of $10,000 (excluding GST). Applications open on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 9am.

All applications must be submitted online by Monday, June 21, 2021 at 5pm. In the event that applicants are unable to submit an online application, please contact the council before the deadline to receive a hard-copy and make the necessary arrangements for alternative submission. Any hard copy documents must be delivered or postmarked on or before Monday, June 21, 2021 at 5pm.
