Photographer Tina Milson's idea to make the empty shopfronts on Auburn Street look appealing has turned into a major project.
Through the 'Portraits on Main' project, portraits of those who give back to the community will be exhibited on the empty shopfronts, retail stores and government buildings to name a few.
She plans to take hundreds of photographs of the locals and also include portraits of those aged 50 years and above that were a part of her 'Art of Ageing' exhibition for the project.

"It is a celebration of our wonderful community. Every year, 700,000 visitors come to Goulburn on average. The empty shops with portraits will improve the look of the main street and beautify the vacant stores," she said.
"Through this project, we will be able to share the good work done by the members of our community. Sometimes, it's one of your neighbours or friends and you are completely unaware of it."
The Goulburn-based photographer hopes to take hundreds of photographs across various sections of the city's multicultural community.
These portraits will be printed in Goulburn and hung in the shopfront windows by the 'Portraits on Main' team.
Tina Milson's work from the 'Art of Ageing' exhibition will also be displayed at these shop fronts and their life journey will be narrated along with it from November this year.
The project had received a $3000 funding boost from NSW Government's Country Art Support Program last year.
The owners and tenants of the stores on the main street have been contacted asking them if they would like to be a part of the project.
