The Goulburn Visitor Information Centre, Goulburn Mulwaree Council and Chamber of Commerce are set to release the applications in the coming months, each serving a different purpose from Tourism Enhancement to heritage resources and economic development.
The Goulburn Post spoke with each developer to get the rundown on what’s in store:
• App’N’Go
App’n’Go is a mobile information management system which has been purpose built as a platform to connect all Visitor Information Centres region-wide, aimed at providing current information to those travelling Inland NSW.
Developed by Aurora Research in partnership with Inland NSW Tourism, App’n’Go is a unique tourism app which enhances the current services provided by Accredited Visitor Information Centres (AVICs), including information about local accommodation, tours, activities, restaurants, driving routes, special offers, local news, events and more.
The app sources content from the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse, supplemented with local content uploaded by Visitor Information Centres.
Graham Perry, Inland NSW Tourism CEO, said, “This initiative demonstrates the continuing importance of Visitor Information Centres whilst enhancing their capability to deliver visitors the Inland region a 24 hour service 365 days of the year.”
App’N’Go can be accessed by visitors on their smart phones, tablets or other mobile devices (both iPhone and android) to enable quicker and more efficient uptake of tourism product information.
Set for release in the coming weeks, App’N’Go is a must-have for those wishing to explore the region and keep up to date with what’s going on. The app will be available free of charge.

• Goulburn At Your Fingertips
Goulburn Mulwaree Council is launching a free local tourism app, alongside tourism app developers ‘Appy Travels’, aimed at celebrating and sharing the social and cultural history of Goulburn and surrounding districts.
It aims to bring together a range of materials into a community resource for use in the City’s 150th Birthday Celebrations in March 2013 and beyond. The project seeks to create an enduring resource for students, community organisations and visitors to the City, about the colourful history over the past 150 years.
The project will create community resources, displays and information, record audio and video content from local organisations and institutions, develop virtual tour guides for Goulburn and many more.

• Goulburn Chamber of Commerce City Guide
Developed by Peacock Digital for the Goulburn Chamber of Commerce, the City Guide app boasts “one-stop-shop” content covering all aspects of the community to boost for investment, development and tourism.
President of the Chamber of Commerce, Rob Walker told the Post that the development of a commerce app is “a sign of the time” and necessary to boost the current retail market.
The app is designed to address three main questions in order to increase revenue generation and exposure: What is there to do in Goulburn? Why should I visit Goulburn? And, why should I invest in Goulburn? The app will address every feature of the Goulburn Community from accommodation and real estate, employment, food, business listings, news and more.
