However, the childcare centre, along with the JumpStart Early Learning Centre has been sold to Lisa McGhee
Former owner Melanie Wakefield, who has done a terrific job with the two centres, was pleased.
"I sold it to Lisa who I contacted through the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA)," Ms Wakefield said.
"She is an amazing woman."
Ms McGhee might be from the inner west suburbs of Sydney, but she decided to buy the centres as they were located in a "family friendly area".
"They are wonderful centres," she said.
"They're high performing centres with a great reputation and great long term staff.
"There are also amazing facilities."
As the owner of the centres on James Place and Franklin Street, Ms McGhee is always on the lookout for ways to improve.
"I mentor staff that are currently there and think about ways we can keep improving the service," she said.
"We're looking to upgrade Scaliiwags and want to consult with the voices of the staff, parents and children.
"I will also give staff free further education in the industry and they can also spend some time at work to study."
Ms Wakefield said she made the decision because of her move interstate.
"I am moving to Melbourne to pursue a new career path," Ms Wakefield said.
It took a few tries to find the right person due to a couple of factors.
"The ACA recommended me a couple of people to sell to," Ms Wakefield said.
"One had passed away shortly after while there was a potential buyer of Chinese ethnicity.
"They declined because they felt Goulburn wasn't culturally diverse enough.
"They thought there would be a stigma with Asian people owning it."
Lisa McGhee is excited to bring an exceptional future to the childcare centres.
