The candidates are putting their hands up to be a part of the pre-selection process.

Matt Murfitt, Voices of Hume event coordinator, said that each event will last for approximately two hours.

"Anyone from within or just outside of the Hume electorate is welcome. The event will start with a quick introduction, giving the presenters a chance to tell us about themselves, some question time and followed up by a quick close and possibly a drink and lunch in the nearby restaurant/pub," he said.
"We now have 50 of 90 places booked for the town hall in Goulburn. Speakers are looking forward to engaging with the public."
Voices of Hume was formed by a group of residents in the Hume electorate with an aim to talk to people and find out what they want from their politicians.
In April this year, the group released a report which was consolidated after feedback from hundreds of people regarding what they want from their politicians.
The group of residents in Hume electorate held 'kitchen table conversations' with 257 residents from five Local Government Areas - Goulburn Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan, Wingecarribee, Wollondilly and Camden - as part of a year-long campaign.
As part of the campaign, the residents were asked questions like what are the main issues in their community/electorate, what makes a good political representative, what are the best things about where they live and what makes a strong community.
The report reveals that the respondents have a desire to preserve the natural surroundings and prefer more transparency from government officials.
