Statistics show there are plenty of men who don't go for checkups unless there is a problem.
That also applies to eye problems.

Specsavers found that 43 per cent of men, the equivalent to 4825 men in Goulburn, wait until they experience a health issue before booking a check-up, closing the window for early detection on eye conditions.
The week tries to turn that around.
Goulburn Specsavers optometrist Bernadette Moran explained the dangers of not getting checked out early.
"Unfortunately, lots of men still have this 'she'll be right' attitude or just don't get around to looking after themselves, even when they're experiencing a problem," Ms Moran said.
"We see it time and time again.
"The issue with waiting when it comes to something like your eyes is that if there is something wrong, you don't want to be in a situation where you end up with vision loss when it could have been easily prevented."
Research from Specsavers also showed that men would prefer to wait for the issue to go away by itself rather than book an appointment with an optometrist or healthcare professional.
"Most eye conditions can be managed or treated especially when picked up early," she said.

"When these conditions are left, the outcome can be more complicated.
"We're talking about our vision here and we only have one pair of eyes, so we need to remember to look after them, whether that's wearing protective eye gear while doing home maintenance projects or visiting an optometrist when we have a problem."
Specsavers is calling on all men in the state to attend their regular health checks and book in an eye test.
