The Agriculture Minister has been in isolation since he was notified by health authorities of a possible exposure after he dined at a Sydney pizza restaurant on Monday night.
All MPs who attended parliament on Tuesday and Wednesday have since been ordered into isolation.
Mr Smith said he was in parliament on Tuesday but could not recall any close contact with Mr Marshall.
Just 20 Members of Parliament will sit today to pass the NSW Budget. Ten from each side - have undergone a rapid COVID-19 test, and were expected to have their results before 10.30am, when they are due to sit.
Mr Smith said he was not one of the 20 required to sit in parliament but decided to have the test to do the right thing before returning to his Southern Highlands home.
"I will abide by whatever rules I have to follow," he said.
"If I have to go into isolation or quarantine in a hotel that is what I will do," he said.
Ms Tuckerman continue in her Facebook post that "it's important we all use QR codes and keep up to date with the latest health advice and get tested as required. As this is a rapidly evolving situation please stay informed with the latest updates by following www.health.nsw.gov.au"
