With the Boars on the attack for a lot of the first half, the Tigers were able to break through a couple of times against the run of play.
The Boars kept fighting in the second half, but the Tigers were too strong, winning 37-6 on a wet Taralga Showground turf on Saturday, July 3.
Tigers coach Will Hedley was happy with the win although it wasn't their best performance.
"It was a good hit out," Hedley said.
"In the second half we faded off a bit, but it's all good.
"We gave away too many silly penalties in the second half, which meant we had to defend a lot."
It's never easy beating the Boars and the encounter was no different.
"We knew it was going to be a tough game," Hedley said.
"They're always hard to beat when they come up here."
It was a great season for Taralga last year, as they won the competition and their goal heading into this campaign hasn't changed.
"Our goal was to carry on from last year which is what we're doing," Hedley said.
"We'll move onto next week where we will take on the Braidwood Redbacks and hopefully get another win."
In other results concerning the region, the Redbacks edged past the Yass Rams 23-21 while the Crookwell Dogs were beaten 38-12 by the Bungendore Mudchooks.
