Councillors vote to reduce Auburn Street speed limit
After a community consultation period, Goulburn Mulwaree councilors voted to endorse a 40km/h speed limit for Auburn Street and to divert heavy traffic. While the motion passed unanimously on October 5, the changes are pending approval by Transport for NSW.

A prison escapee had "no great plan" and seized an opportunity with the intention to commit suicide, a court has heard. Ryan Antonius Wennekes-Wright, 29, appeared before Goulburn Local Court on October 5 via audio visual link. He previously pleaded guilty to three charges including: inmate escape from lawful custody, attempt to unlawfully take motor vehicle with person in it, and assault with intent to take motor vehicle.
Goulburn Lilac City Festival wraps up for 2021, competition winners announced
The 2021 Goulburn Lilac City Festival wrapped up on Monday. While celebrations were different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual festival coloured the region. This year marked the 70th anniversary, making the event the longest continually running festival in Australia.
