He may be firm, but Bede Darcey is definitely fair.
Mr Darcey was one of the youngest principals in the state when he was at Breadalbane Public School.
He then moved to Goulburn East Public School followed by Corrimal East Public School before taking up a principal school leadership role.
"In the role, I worked with principals and leadership teams across the state," Mr Darcey said.
"I supported them with controversial issues that happen in schools from time to time."
He then became the relieving principal at Bradfordville Public School before moving into his current role at the start of term three.
"Wollondilly was always a drawcard for mine as they had supported learning classes," Mr Darcey said.
"Special education is a passion of mine and we have those classes here.
"The staff here ensure that every child is known by the school, their teachers and is valued for the person they are."
Mr Darcey, who has always wanted to be involved in the education industry, finds his role very rewarding.
"When I was a teacher, the best thing for me was seeing the kids grow and develop," he said.
"As a leader now, I love working with other teachers and trying to get the most out of them."
Mr Darcey hopes to have a positive influence on every student and teacher at the school and that shows in the two mottoes he goes by.
"I believe that true leaders don't create followers, but create more leaders," he said.
"I also think that education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.
"If we can help kids become kind, respectful and honest of society."
