If you have views on the future of Tarago, you have until February 11 to share them with Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
The future of Tarago is the subject of a draft village strategy, with an exhibition period that has been extended to February 11, 2022.
According to the council, the draft strategy is intended to "inform future residential land supply and the delivery of housing to meet local demand in Tarago," based on the assessment of various environmental land use constraints and opportunities.
To further facilitate discussion, the council will be holding a consultation/drop-in session at the Tarago Hall, 18 Wallace Street Tarago, between 4-6pm on February 2.

A copy of the draft strategy can be found on the council's web page under the 'Public Exhibition and Notices' section.
The draft strategy identifies two areas with the village for further investigation for the expansion of the RU5 Village zone, which allows for a range of uses including: centre-based child care facilities; community facilities; dwelling houses; light industries; neighbourhood shops; places of public worship; recreation areas; recreation facilities (indoor and outdoor); respite day care centres; and schools.
Lot size, water and sewerage for potential housing are also discussed in the document.
Precinct 1 is considered suitable for expansion, while Precinct 2, according to a report to council has been "ruled out" due to potential flooding, high water table and proximity to the railway line.
To have your say, send a written submission to council at any time between now and 5pm on Friday, February 11, 2022.
