The government has endorsed Goulburn local, Sandy McNamara, alongside 20 other up-and-coming event managers across regional NSW in a scholarship for a Diploma of Event Management.

That is in partnership with peak events industry body Meetings and Events Australia (MEA).
Sandy McNamara is the function manager at the Goulburn Workers Club and has been working in hospitality since high-school, with almost ten years of her career dedicated to the Goulburn Workers Club.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn more in the industry and am already coordinating all sorts of events from school formals to meetings, parties and memorial services," Ms McNamara said.
"So much has changed even this year, with audio-visual elements being incorporated into events, the Diploma is really exciting."
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said it was great to see local talent recognised among the recipients of the Event Management Scholarship Program.
"Sandy will be an excellent representative of the talent pool in our region," Mrs Tuckerman said.
"This scholarship will not just support her though.
"It will ultimately benefit the Goulburn region by providing homegrown event management expertise."
Minister for jobs, investment, tourism and Western Sydney and Minister for trade and industry Stuart Ayres said the scholarships would play an important role in stimulating new business event activity in regional communities.
"The business events sector presents a major opportunity for the visitor economy, particularly for regional NSW," Mr Ayres said.
"We know that the best way forward is to help to create more jobs and these scholarships will do exactly that - giving people the tools and extra support needed to kick-start their careers.
"I congratulate the 20 scholarship recipients who are already making valuable contributions to their local communities and wish them every success as they begin their diploma studies and continue their journeys in the events sector."
