The $8.8 million project involves laying pipe infrastructure throughout the city to irrigate highly treated water on sporting fields and parks.

A council spokesman said pipe laying in Blackshaw Road, under the rail underpass had been completed. However contractor Killard Infrastructure will undertake heavy duty restoration work from 7am December 6 to 5pm on December 11. This will involve the road's closure between Sloane Street and the junction with Park Road.
"These works involve removal of existing pavement, and pouring a new concrete pavement in line with council's standard," the spokesman said.

Traffic control will be in place for road closures during the day and for detours needed for the work, as well as any pedestrian management requirements.

Construction for the irrigation system at North Park started this week. The project will also irrigate Carr Confoy sporting fields, Goulburn Golf Club, Eastgrove South sporting fields, Victoria Park, Hudson Park and the Goulburn Recreation Area.
