It seems - after two years of opportunities missed and connections not made - that everyone is determined to make things happen this year, from family gatherings to Christmas bashes to community events.
Which is lovely...until it isn't.
Of course, December is always a crazy time of year, but every year I'm surprised by just how crazy.
For some reason, I think, "No, this year will be different."
And then the calendar fills, and the chores stack up, and the shopping list gets longer, and I have a nervous breakdown on about December 27 (when I can spare the time).
But if you want to make a plan to enjoy the coming season (at whatever pace suits you), you'll find plenty of help from us at the Goulburn Post.
Learn how to take a great photo of your Christmas lights, and then send it in to us to share on our Christmas lights map.
Get some shopping advice (and support our amazing local businesses, who have been surviving and thriving in 2021), and mark your diaries for our carols night.
Plan some summer feasts and Christmas specialties, or find a place to go for holidays.
Whatever you do, try to dodge the hurtling truck and take some time to rest.
It's been a big year...
