With two days to Christmas, COVID-19 cases across NSW continue to break national records.
According to the NSW Health website, there are 58 active cases in the Wingecarribee Shire local government area.
In Goulburn, there are 10 active case of COVID-19.
In the Queanbeyan-Palerang local government area, there are 31 active cases of COVID-19, six in Yass Valley and one in Upper Lachlan Shire.
Double dose vaccination rates for Wingecarribee Shire, Goulburn Mulwaree, Yass Valley, Queanbeyan-Palerang Upper Lachlan Shire are all above 95 per cent.
NSW recorded 5715 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm Wednesday December 22, with more than 160,000 people tested.
The figure is a sharp increase from the previous 24-hour period, when there were 3763 new cases.
One person has died overnight.
According to the latest vaccination figures released by NSW Health scross NSW, 94.9 per cent of people aged 16 and over have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 93.5 per cent have received two doses.
Of the people aged 12 to 15, 81.5 per cent have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 78.2 per cent have received two doses.
There are now 347 people in hospital with COVID-19, up by 45 and there are 45 people in intensive care, an increase of five.

Residents should be alert for even the mildest symptoms that could signal COVID-19 including headache, nausea, sore throat, runny nose, cough, loss of smell or taste, or fever.
If symptoms appear, people must isolate and get tested immediately, and remain isolated until a negative result is received.

To help stop the spread of COVID-19:
- If you are unwell, get tested and isolate right away - don't delay.
- Wash your hands regularly and take hand sanitiser with you when you go out.
- Keep your distance and leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others.
- Wear a mask at all times when outside your home, except when exercising.
