Sir Rod was due to play at Centennial Vineyards on October 25, 2020, however, it was postponed due to COVID-19 and border restrictions.
He was rescheduled to play on March 27, 2022.
A statement from the Day On The Green website said that due to the "re-imposition of indoor entertainment venue capacity limits in several states, Sir Rod Stewart's scheduled March/April tour of Australia and New Zealand has, regrettably, been cancelled."
In an online statement, the 77-year-old crooner said he felt that we had all been cheated by this "evil disease".
"It is with great regret that I announce my shows for 2022 have had to be cancelled," he said.
"My thoughts are with all your families at this difficult time as we come out of the joyous and hopefully safe holiday season and I look forward to returning to Australia as soon as the health situation permits.
"I'm absolutely gutted with disappointment and when I do eventually get there we'll have the party to end all parties. Guaranteed!"
Centennial Vineyards was contacted for comment.
