The "It's Gotta Be Netball" campaign was designed to focus on the positive aspects of the game, such as fun and friendship, in order to encourage new or returning players back to the court, in order to support local clubs and associations who have been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

While the GDNA did not suffer too severely, particularly in comparison with some other local sporting entities, it will surely welcome the opportunity to bring more players to the sport.
Netball NSW CEO, Tain Drinkwater, believes the campaign is the ideal pathway to replenish and further strengthen netball's participation in the state.
"Netball competitions across the state have been hit hard by COVID impacts over the past two years but in 2022 we want to get everyone back on the court playing the game we love," she said.
"I think this campaign illustrates the optimism we can now feel. Through bright and colourful imagery and photos, It's Gotta Be Netball showcases and reminds everyone about the joy and friendship that being involved in netball offers kids, teens and adults.
"Netball is all about welcoming everyone to have fun, enjoy fitness and to belong to this wonderful tribe of likeminded people. I can't wait to see our Clubs and Associations get behind this, and also look forward to seeing the new people it brings to the game."
The campaign's message will be broadcast via radio, outdoor signage, online, and through social media for six weeks starting from last Monday.
Its design was based on brand strategy work which was informed by feedback from the local netball community.
It is the latest in a series of momentous announcements from Netball NSW, following the implementation of new Men's State Titles Divisions last month, which itself was preceded by the release of new gender-inclusive netball uniforms.
