Nine netball courts at Carr Confoy in Goulburn will be upgraded as part of an overall $700,000 funding package.

Close to $640,000 of that will be included in the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund being rolled out across the state.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman announced the funding to the club late last year, which will enable Goulburn Mulwaree Council to replace the failing, asphalt courts with a safe, asphalt and acrylic surface.
"Netball has the highest female participants across Australia, in addition to the highest profile professional female sporting league," she said.
"But we just haven't seen the equivalent levels of sponsorship and funding to the sport.
"That's why I am particularly pleased that the NSW Government will contribute almost $640,000 of the $700,000 project, removing a major obstruction to enable Goulburn Mulwaree Council to resurface the courts - this is a great outcome for netball in our region.
"This project will be delivered under the female sporting related infrastructure element of the Stronger Country Communities Fund - the new surface will reduce player fatigue, impact, and stress and abrasion injuries - making the sport safer for those enjoying social games.
"The chosen surface, plexipave, also increases the speed of the court by providing more predictable grip -which means and enhanced performance for the players."
Goulburn Mulwaree Council General Manager Warwick Bennett also welcomed the funding.
"The all-weather courts will remove the barriers of inclement weather requiring court preparation before playing," he said.
"The nine new courts will also increase the potential of regional interclub competitions and provide more advanced opportunities for players with representative prospects in the Goulburn Mulwaree Region."
