13 players who reside in the Upper Lachlan Shire represented NSW and the ACT at the recent Under 15 and Under 18 National Championships.
Billie Skelly, Chloe Kemp and Annie Knight represented the ACT in the Under 15 Girls side while Tyler Smith, Sam McGregor and Jay Knight played for the Boys team.
In the Under 18 squads, Eliza Kemp was the sole Girls representative and Josh Evans, Harry Skelly and Jake McCarthy were selected in the Boys side.
For NSW Bella Croker was selected in the Under 15 Girls side while Bridgette Anable and Emmalee Croker wore the sky blue in the Under 18 category.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council General Manager Colleen Worthy said she has been blown away by the sheer volume of selections.
"As a relative newcomer to the Shire, I often hear how strong the hockey playing history is here, but these selections confirm that's not just a thing of the past," she said.
"And they've all achieved this against a background of unprecedented interruptions, so it's a real credit to their skills, their determination, and to their support crew of family and friends.
"Your loved ones and the whole Shire are very proud of you."
Six players (Chloe Kemp, Sam McGregor, Eliza Kemp, Jake McCarthy, Bella Croker and Emmalee Croker) applied for and received $300 as a Sporting Representation Donation from council.
Mrs Worthy said she was also glad that council had been able to lend a helping hand as payers chased their dreams.
"Obviously the credit belongs to the players, but I'm pleased Council was able to assist in some small way," she said.
