Mrs Beamish died on Wednesday aged 89 years.
An instigator of the Goulburn Art Club, Mrs Beamish's love of art was catching and spread through hundreds of Goulburn residents.
"The main thing is that people enjoy their art," Mrs Beamish said.
During an interview with the Goulburn Post in 1982 Mrs Beamish said she made "no distinction between the amateur and the professional (artist), as long as they enjoy what they are doing and try to improve".
In more recent years, Mrs Beamish lived at Gerringong, but had previously become a well-known face of Goulburn, having lived in the city since moving from England to Australia in 1949.
Details of Mrs Beamish's funeral can be found in the classifieds section of today's Goulburn Post.
