The Unit, which now includes four officers, will undertake regular patrols until April next year.
Constable Jo Cummins recently joined the unit after undertaking mounted police training with the NSW Mounted Police in Sydney.
Const Cummins, who rides police horse Sergeant, said the first mounted street patrol for the season was well received by the Goulburn community.
"The community is really pleased to see us out and about because the horses ensure high visibility policing," Const Cummins said.
"We will be patrolling at least a day a week to begin with, plus the busy nights such as Thursday, Friday and Saturday over spring and summer.
"The mounted unit will also be part of Operation Viking in Goulburn on September 29 and 30 during the Lilac City Festival, which will involve us working with all other units on a zero tolerance operation.
"Operation Viking will target crime hot spots plus street offences, anti-social behaviour and any other type of crime.
