The tournament started on Monday and Bill turned 65 on Wednesday, meaning the Goulburn shooter was forced to face off against much younger competition in the open category.
Not that Lambert is worried at all about that now, as he came back from the championships with a silver medal in the B grade double barrel point score event.
Almost 500 shooters contested the championships with both men and women from around the country converging on Wagga for the 10 day shooting festival.
Lambert was ecstatic with his performance, having only taken up shooting again three years ago after a 16-year hiatus.
