Originally built as the Mandelson’s Goulburn Hotel in 1845, it was rated to be the finest hotel in Goulburn and reported as the first building to be lit by gas from the Goulburn Gas Company.
The Johnson-Barretts saw the potential of the building, situated on the corner of Clinton and Sloane Streets, and purchased it 10 years ago.
They then spent the next few years completing renovations and restorations, transforming it into an executive guesthouse with eight guest suites, a fully equipped kitchen, conference room, office, rear courtyard and five bedroom self-contained manager’s residence.
