A sand and water hybrid surface, which can be used both with and without the need for water, will replace the current sand-based model with a total cost of $350,000 after contingencies.
One field will be replaced in the coming months, with the second to follow within the next two years.
The current surface has come in for criticism for some years and the new surface was described as "overdue".
The money put forward for the rejuvenation will be split between Goulburn Hockey Incorporated and the Goulburn Workers Club, with the surface to be laid in the near future.
