Glen Innes kids got a rare chance to play a theremin, learn about how their ears function, and take part in a faux music competition at the Library on Thursday. The University of New England's Discovery Voyager crew traveled to Glen Innes this week. They did two workshops, with the first of the two, the Sound Factor, billed as an "interactive theatrical exploration of sound". Students learnt about the physics behind the sounds we make and those we hear. Sound Factor judges Owldele, Bee-yonce, Reef Urban and more helped the children learn the answers to questions like how echo location works and how animals use sound to communicate and find food.
