It was formed in 1968 and the club’s first rodeo was held on February 11 that year.
John Goff and Bill Dutaillis were the initial instigators and that first rodeo was run to aid The Sisters of Mercy.
Since 2000 it has donated a massive $100,000 back into very worthy Goulburn causes.
The 2018 Rodeo will be the 50th anniversary of the Goulburn Rodeo Club running rodeos and associated events in Goulburn, although the very first rodeo known to be held in Goulburn was back in 1942.
The Club also runs an annual charity horse ride that has huge popularity with riders coming from all around the district to take part.
This year it will be held in Taralga on Saturday, November 12.
All riders must have pre-purchased a card from our secretary to be able to ride and there is a limit this year of 100 riders.
Riders are encouraged to seek sponsorship and there are prizes for the most money raised by participants.
The cost is $70 for adults and $40 for children and includes registration and insurance plus lunch and dinner on Saturday.
Riders can camp overnight and there is a gold coin donation for breakfast.
Potential ride participants should contact secretary contact Sybil Lucas on 0400 279 967 or president Jeff Rowson on 0428 406 154 or email goulburnrodeoclub@gmail.com
