Student William Long said it had been a "rollercoaster" year.
"The HSC is just around the corner so I'm not as excited as I should be," he admitted.
"I'm feeling a little under-prepared and nervous."
William hopes to study a science-related degree at the University of Canberra.
Kiara Haynes said she was also feeling nervous about the HSC, which runs from October 17 to November 11.
Blake Robertson had other things on his mind. On Saturday he flies out with Trinity Catholic College students Alex Parlett and Jack Burke and Australian Catholic College University student Elise Thornthwaite to Papua New Guinea. There they will walk the 97km long Kokoda Track with a larger group under a Goulburn Soldiers Club sponsored program.
Blake said he was prepared for the challenge, thanks to mountains of training.
There was plenty of excitement in the air as parents proudly posed for photos with their children, and students reflected on school days and bright futures.
