Goulburn makeup artist Diana Cheetham is hosting the fundraiser 'Girls' Night In' with the 'Bride Tribe' theme.
A Cancer Council event, money raised for 'Girls Night In' will be donated towards holistic approaches to cancer research.
"I have seen friends and family being struck by the disease and have always wanted to host a fundraiser to raise money to fight cancer," Ms Cheetham said.
"Recently, someone close to me was diagnosed with cancer and that made me decide to hold this fundraiser.
"The idea behind organising 'Girls' Night In' is to raise money to help fight the disease. Any amount that is raised through fundraisers like this can help people who are suffering due to this disease."
Talking about the theme 'Bride Tribe' for the night, she said her aim was to "make fundraising fun".
"I thought everyone love their wedding dresses. So, we will get to wear our dresses and help raise money for cancer research as well."
The event is full of fun-filled activities with music, games and photo challenges.
"I want it to be a fun night. Few of my friends have been recently struck by cancer. So, I want to host the fundraiser in a way that it creates awareness about the issue and helps them forget about their pain for some time and have fun."
There are several activities planned for the day that are being sponsored by businesses in town.
Apart from making the night fun, there will be information regarding cancer, as well.
"Cancer Council has sent collection of containers, posters, bunting that can be used on the night to create awareness," she said.
Local businesses have come together to support the event, which is being held on October 12 and attendance is by invitation only.
"Several activities on the day are being sponsored by local businesses," she said.

"If other businesses would like to join the cause and be a sponsor, they are welcome to do so. It's always good to have as many businesses on board as we can."
She is looking forward to organising the fundraiser next year as well.
"Depending on the response this year, we may plan to hold the event next year as well."
Meanwhile, Mrs Cheetham has started a page with a goal to raise $500 by the end of this month to help with cancer research.
All the money raised will be donated to Cancer Council.
