Owner of The Hibernian Hotel Patrick Burke said they were doing their best to follow new procedures.
Mr Burke said the pub had turned off every second poker machine and removed every second chair to create social distance between patrons and limit exposure to COVID-19. They will also cap numbers.
These measures are in response to an announcement made by prime minister Scott Morrison on Wednesday that indoor gatherings of more than 100 people were banned.
"These are crazy times, who knows what tomorrow will bring," Mr Burke said.
"I'll have to reduce staff hours, my staff will be the main people affected by these limitations."
At the moment, bands scheduled over the weekend will go ahead but events as of next week will be cancelled.
Mr Burke said going forward take-away was the best option for patrons and would enable kitchen staff to be kept on.

The owner believed restrictions should only have been implemented where there were clusters of infected people, not nation-wide.
Mr Burke is also a delegate for the NSW branch of the Australian Hotels Association and is currently pushing for a reprieve for 'one pub towns'.
"Pubs in small towns provide essential services. If the pub closes the whole social structure of the town changes," he said.
The hospitality industry is waiting with bated breath for another government announcement on Friday.
The Goulburn Soldiers Club has not returned requests for comment at this stage. Workers Club CEO Brett Gorham was unavailable on Thursday. Railway Bowling Club representatives declined comment.
