The impact of the closure of the border was felt by businesses in Goulburn after the decision to close the border came into effect on Wednesday, July 8.
Already reeling under the impact of coronavirus pandemic, the local businesses are once again facing uncertainty.
John Woodman from the Trappers Bakery fears that the effect of the border closure will be felt by the business soon.
"I have no doubt that it's definitely going to affect our business. It's coming at the back of the last few months which has severely impacted us. So, it's certainly not the best thing to be happening," Mr Woodman said.
"The coronavirus restrictions has kept the customer away in the past few months.
"However, at this stage, since the border has been closed since midnight, we are not feeling any major change, but we will be able to see the effect on the business soon."
Visitors from Victoria regularly travel to Goulburn and stay at the motels and other accommodations before travelling further.
The Posthouse Motel in Goulburn, which has the well-known Blu Plate restaurant, gets regular bookings from Victorians.
"We had three families from Victoria staying here with us overnight. They were probably heading home after the announcement on the closing of the border was made," manager Peter O'Brien said.
Mr O'Brien said that the impact will be felt on the business as the Victorians will not be travelling during the holidays.
"If they are not travelling during the school holidays, it will probably affect our business," he said.
Currently, their lodge has several workers staying there locally.
"But we will start seeing the change as the Victorians aren't allowed to cross the border now."
