Mr Upfield has been nominated for TransGrid Leadership Award by Awards Australia to individuals who are the "driving force" in their community.
He has been a manager for over two decades and is currently working as one for a used car section of a multi franchise dealership in the city.

"If a leader leads by example then it is a recipe for success for the business," he said.
"Whether it is an entertainment venue or something else, you are looking for a safe and friendly environment. I don't mind going the extra mile to assist with helping where I can.
"If you operate a business by looking at these aspects, not only the business but even the community benefits from it greatly."
He grew up in Wagga Wagga and moved to Goulburn around 15 years back.
"My experience here has been excellent. I believe in being a part of the community and contributing to the community in a positive manner," he said.
Mr Upfield was pleasantly surprised after learning that he has been nominated for the award by one of his customers.
He believes that it is important to have an open mind and keep a hard-working attitude.
"You can achieve a lot more than you realize if you have that attitude. Success should never be valued by the money it should be valued by the impression you give out and the expression you choose to accept," he said.
The Award Australia's NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards began in 2002. It aims to recognise the contributions of individuals, communities, and businesses in regional NSW and ACT.
