Set in Australia, Scotland, Ireland and England, 'The Godmothers' is a moving and perceptive story about the families we are born into and the ones we make for ourselves.
Ms McInerney says the book is a family mystery and will hold a virtual author talk on September 30.
"It's also about moral dilemmas over secrets and how long they should be kept within the family and between godmothers and goddaughters," she added.
The Australian-born Dublin-based author is expecting a lively discussion at the upcoming talk.
"People have sent me terrific questions which I will be addressing in the session. I will also share the writing and research process undertaken for 'The Godmothers'," Ms McInerney said.
"Prior to COVID-19, I would be personally touring the libraries to hold the talk. However, things have changed after the pandemic."
The year 2020 marks her 20th year of being a published author.
She is the author of novels 'The Trip of a Lifetime', 'Hello from the Gillespies', 'The House of Memories', 'Lola's Secret', 'At Home with the Templetons', 'Family Baggage', 'The Alphabet Sisters', 'Upside Down Inside Out' and 'A Taste for It' to name a few.
The 54-year-old grew up in a family of seven children in the Clare Valley wine region of South Australia. She currently lives in Dublin.
This event is a collaboration between NSW Public Libraries and will be held on Wednesday, September 30.
Bookings for the free event can be made here.
