There was pretty much no respite for a lot of firefighting crews across the state including those from Gundary RFS.
Their hard work was recognised at the Goulburn Workers Club on Thursday, November 6 when Gundary RFS members received their bravery citations.
Gundary RFS captain Jim Huntley praised all the members for their hard work.
"During the bushfire season, they responded to bushfires in Gundary and surrounding areas," Mr Huntley said.
"We were able to have crews working for several weeks from October to February."
Mr Huntley said the workload from his crew was unprecedented.
"They all worked very hard to protect both properties and lives," he said.
"I would say they worked as hard as they had for the previous 10 years combined."
